Study Title: Neural Enabled Prosthesis for Upper Limb Amputees (Clinical Trial #: NCT03432325)

Subject group: Seeking Healthy Adult Upper Limb Amputee Volunteers
Status: Open
You are invited to participate in a study to evaluate a new hand prosthetic system developed by Dr. Ranu Jung at Florida International University. The system is allowed by the FDA for investigation and is intended to provide the sense of touch and grip force to the user by wirelessly sending electrical stimulation pulses to electrodes implanted in nerves of the residual limb. Compensation available. If you are at least 18 years of age and have a below-the-elbow amputation that occurred 9 months ago or more, then you might be eligible to participate.

For further information, go to this link: http://ans.fiu.edu/S3EN, or contact the Research Coordinator at 305-348-4782, ANSlab@fiu.edu or Dr. Jung at rjung@fiu.edu.

Study Title: Non-invasive Electrical Neurostimulation for Sensory Feedback
Subject group: Seeking Healthy Adult Volunteers
Status:
 Open

If you

  • Are between 18 and 60 years old
  • Are in good general health

Then, you may be eligible to participate in a research study to help us develop a non-invasive electrical neurostimulation approach for providing sensory feedback and to better understand how people can perceive graded sensations. Eligible subjects will participate in up to five sessions of about 3 hours each. The study is being conducted at FIU: Engineering Campus, 10555 W Flagler Street, Miami, FL 33174

To volunteer of for more information please contact Andres Pena: apena009@fiu.edu or (305) 348-2176

Subject group: Seeking Healthy Adult Upper or Lower Limb Amputee Volunteers
Status:
 Open

If you

  • Are between 18 and 60 years old
  • Are in good general health
  • Have an amputation between the wrist and elbow, and are able and willing to use a myoelectric prosthetic hand
  • Or have an amputation between the knee and the ankle

Then, you may be eligible to participate in a research study to help us develop a non-invasive electrical neurostimulation approach for providing sensory feedback and to better understand how people can perceive graded sensations. Eligible subjects will participate in up to five sessions of about 3 hours each. The study is being conducted at FIU: Engineering Campus, 10555 W Flagler Street, Miami, FL 33174.
